I discovered ToppDogg about 4-5 months ago. I haven’t heard anything about them until I started to sample some music from them and then after that I was hooked. The style of music is the type of music that I am into so it definitely drew me in even closer. The funny thing is that only 2 weeks ago when I saw the trailer for their new Music Video that I discovered that they were actually 13 people in the group. They have a unique style and that includes what is in this album. The mixture of classical music and hip hop was done really smoothly and it kind of blew me away as I didn’t know what to really expect. If you haven’t heard of them take a listen they are definitely worth putting on your list.

The mixture of rock, electronica, and classical music was phenomenal in this intro. Who knew the blend would be so awesome?!
For some reason it had a Prince of Persia type of feel to it, but the mixture of tempo and certain instruments coming in and out gave the song a lot of texture. The rapping at parts are a little weird, didn’t seem to fit the feel of the song. It also reminds me a lot of music from musicals. I like how they also simplified the bridge with just singing and piano, then the punch of the strong rap part was unexpected. Overall enjoyed the song, but not one that will make it to my playlist from them.
I like how more simple this song is compared to AmadeuS. This song also has a little more jazzy feel to it. Then the change to the basses were interesting, it’s nothing new that I LOVE low basses. The middle portion of the song doesn’t seem to really fit in with the song, reason why it’s rated a little less than the other songs. Overall the song was ok, not really to my liking. Portions of the song seem a bit messy and don’t fit in well.
By far my favorite song of the whole album, the mixture between classical music and the hip-hop was done very well. Where you can hear the classical portions move in and out of the drum beats. I heard that this album was the battle between two musicians and it definitely has that. You can hear where it’s concentrated in classical and then more concentrated on the hip-hop element, then the mixture of the two. I also like the singing and the rapping in this a lot better than the previous tracks. Overall in love with this song and it is definitely going on my playlist!
Since I love the original track, I also love just the instrumental. You can really concentrate on the back and forth between the two genres of music.
