Yee Fung

I have been fascinated with computers since I was really young. I always envisioned myself to be in a profession that dealt with computers and I have been striving for that goal since I was little. I started messing around webpages when i was in high school, started taking classes at Mesa Community College and Arizona State University for a Computer Science degree, and in the workforce learned how to develop websites.  Most people will think it’s work, but for me it’s a passion to code, sure there are times where it’s frustrating, but in the end, coding is in my blood.  Other than coding I do a lot of other things that I am passionate about.  I work with rescue groups to help dogs find their forever homes, I created an Japanese Animation meetup group on Facebook that initially started with 10 people and now has grown to over 550+ people in less than 2 years, and I am always working on helping others get to where their passion is.

    Amber Alert GPS & AmberAlert.com

    July 2012 – Dec 2013
    Lead Developer and Technical Support

Was employed at both AmberAlert GPS and AmberAlert.com when AmberAlert.com got acquired. I continued to do the things specified in AmberAlert.com’s work section, but also re-developed the Law Enforcement Alerting Portal from the ground up, 75% of the development was done by myself. During the time at AmberAlert GPS I helped them build a new website, customized an affiliate application to best meet their needs, developed from the ground up a shopping cart and coupon system, and customized the WordPress backend to make for easy user input.

    AmberAlert.com

    July 2009 – Dec 2013
    Software Engineer and Project Manager

AmberAlert.com is a company that helps Law Enforcement connect to the community in reducing the amount of time it takes to find a missing child. I assisted in creating the software called My Child ID Kit out of Flex 3. I also assisted in the creation of version 2.0 of the Law Enforcement Alerting Portal also using Flex 3. I helped maintain AmberAlert.com’s site and was the main technical support (24/7) for Law Enforcement using the Law Enforcement Alerting Portal to issue AMBER Alerts. Developed a general alerting platform within 5 months from user stories, wireframes, designs, development, testing, then to beta. Made sure all developers were on schedule and on task for the completion of the application.
